The dying art of the knuckleball – The Bonus – SI.com

Good article about the knuckleball.  I saw Wakefield and Steve Sparks pitch against each other in 1994 when Wakefield was with the Buffalo Bisons and Sparks was with the New Orleans Zephyrs (Go Z’s!).  I think I scored that game.  After everything gets out of storage, I’m going to have to dig out my scorebooks and see if I can find it.  It’s very rare that you get to see two knuckleballers pitch against each other in one game.

I also saw Charlie Hough pitch for the White Sox in 1992 when they were playing the Red Sox in the new Comisky Park.  He got rocked in the first inning though.  His knuckleball wasn’t on that day.  As I think back, that’s the game that my cousin Marc taught me how to score a baseball game.  I need to thank him for teaching me–I don’t think I ever did..
