I actually think it makes a lot of sense. Negative feedback marks are very easy to give but have a disproportionately bad affect. Someone could leave a negative feedback simply because they disagree with the writeup, or the time it took to ship or anything. Then you’re stuck with it *forever* and it has a real financial impact.

Ebay is doing the right thing by being the intermediary for the really bad transactions, the non-deliveries, no-pays and outright scams. Let them wave the ban stick.

But they’re only banning the ability for the seller to leave negative feedback. The buyer can still leave negative feedback for the seller. So if the buyer is upset because “they disagree with the writeup, or the time it took to ship or anything,” they can (and will) leave negative feedback and the seller has no recourse. I understand being able to ban buyers if they don’t live up to their end of the contract, but eBay has always had a procedure for that. It’s just way too one sided.

Oh I didn’t realize that. One of the other writeups I read said both. Yeah, then I’m with you, that’s not right.
