I fully understand the need to be aware of where the ball is at all times (see MissDiz’s accident at a Zephyrs game; however, I think it’s a little over the top to completely ban the iPad at Yankee Stadium.  I think people can be just as distracted by cell phones, and those aren’t banned.  Hell, MissDiz’s accident happened while she looked down at a plate of nachos, so it doesn’t even need to be electronic to be a distraction.

Especially since there is an iPad version of the iScore baseball scoring app that looks absolutely beautiful and functional, I know that I would want to take in my iPad if I had one.

And, no, I’m not just picking on the Yankees because I’m a Red Sox fan.  I would think it was silly if Boston had the same ban.  I applaud the Mets, Angels and Mariners for officially allowing the iPad in their stadiums.

I’ve been to three of the four parks discussed in this article (haven’t been to Citi Field) and by far the worst is Tropicana Field.  Not even close.  Rangers Ballpark could use a retractable roof, otherwise, it’s a beautiful stadium.  And Wrigley may have something to do with the Cubs performance, but the atmosphere is great and fun.

But there is nothing fun about seeing a game at Tropicana.  It’s in a bad part of town, and the stadium has been under par since day one.  The only good thing is that you get to see your favorite team play there a few times a year if you’re an AL fan.

This is for all you chess fans out there.

The court looks good too.  Nice overall change for the Hornets.  Good to see them strengthening ties to New Orleans.

And I still really like the “NOLA” logo.

You can see the new logos and uniform on the main page (they should have included them on the press release page as well).  I really like the new logos and uniform designs.  I especially like the “NOLA” logo.  I hope they create a cool hat with that logo…I will so get it.

These changes are long overdue, and hopefully will strengthen the bond between the team and the city.
