The muffuletta is my favorite sandwich, by far. And for me the gold standard has always been Central Grocery. I’ve had countless muffulettas from other locations, but to me, the original has always been the best.

However, I have a new favorite muffuletta (as of two weeks ago). The one from Cochon Butcher is smaller (and cheaper), but it’s full of meat (which is homemade) and there’s a thin layer of olive salad on both sides of the bread.

I still love Central’s sandwich, but Butcher’s is slightly better in my book.

Tammy and I at at Hook’s Pointe the first night of our Disneyland vacation in 2006, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  Great atmosphere and food.  But, it was pretty quiet and not a lot of other diners.  Granted, it was during a slow season, and we may have eaten pretty early.  It’s a nice restaurant, so if this change helps it survive, I’m all for it.

Figures.  Just as I started drinking Diet sodas…  No matter, I’ll definitely give these a try.  Coke really should do something similar, even if they have to charge a slight premium.

I imagine this is what the food in heaven looks like.  At least I hope so.

As a side note:  Isn’t it sad that the man can’t even have lunch without his whole order being reported on and scrutinized?  But, I guess it’s equally sad that I enjoyed reading about his lunch and I’m now posting the link on my blog.  So, two wrongs do make a right. 

Nice story about the handmade candy canes at Disneyland.  It’s a pretty cool tradition that I didn’t even know existed at Disneyland.  Check out the photo galleries for some great photos, and the video shows how they make the candy canes.

It’s pretty neat that Disney is posting cooking videos on their press site.

I’m from the “Coke” camp.  “Soda” I can understand, but I just don’t get “Pop.”  Well, to each his own.
